JACK DANIEL’S INTERNATIONAL BARBEQUE COMPETITION ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF DOC LAWRENCE AS A JUDGE
International Invitational Is World’s Most Prestigious Barbeque Event

LYNCHBURG, TN-- The judge’s panel for the 22nd annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbeque was announced and it includes Doc Lawrence, the noted travel, wine/spirits and food journalist. The appointment marks the fourth consecutive year at Jack Daniel’s for Mr. Lawrence. “This competition,” he said, “is also one of the nation’s best festivals. No city in America is lovelier than Lynchburg and the Jack Daniel’s legacy is firmly identified with the best of the South and the United States.”

The competition is held on grounds at Jack Daniel’s Hollow and includes barbeque champions from all 50 states and foreign countries ranging from Canada, England, Australia, Ireland, Switzerland and many more. The coveted prizes include cash awards and the valuable recognition of winning in this heralded event.

Other judges include American football legend and Hall of Famer Johnny Majors, Memphis restaurateur Silky Sullivan, next year’s Mardi Gras King, and many other television, radio and culinary arts celebrities. The event is an easy drive from Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte and Nashville and according to Lawrence, “there’s live bluegrass music and great food everywhere.”
